Good governance in sport organizations (Gender Policy)
Good Governance in Sport Organisations is actually in Europe a very relevant topic, because many sports organisations need to revise their internal and external mechanisms to cope with the ongoing commercialization, professionalization and globalization of sport. The term “Good Governance” comprises a set of standards and operational practices leading to “effective regulations” of national sport federations as well as National Olympic Committees. This webinar is guided by the need of assessing relevant aspects, such as transparency, democracy and social inclusivity. The presentation will emphasis on the importance of these principles of good governance with a special focus on gender policy. Herewith, the following five aspects will be discussed: National and international strategies on gender equality, Sport decision-making process, Gender equality in coaching, fight against gender-based violence as well as the role of the media in the fight against negative stereotypes.
